ABLOY^® SMARTDISC locks are based on the same unique operating principle as the original ABLOY^® cylinder, utilizing an advanced Disc Steering System. This disc steering system contributes to an easy, smooth operation without resistance.

ABLOY^® SMARTDISC cylinders feature an electrical locking element with no batteries or wiring (the battery is in the key) with user-friendly mechanical function. When operating an ABLOY^® SMARTDISC lock, the key will not turn until fully inserted in the keyway. When the key connects with the electrical locking element, verification of user key is made and if access is permitted for user key a beep will be heard, at this point, the lock will allow the key to turn. The absence of pins and springs ensures durability and reliable operation as well as resistance to environmental conditions.
