This Federal Specification FF-P-2827, General
Field Service Padlock (GFSP), is the result of a study conducted
by the DOD Lock Program in which the need for a medium priced,
exposed shackle padlock was identified. This GFSP is an excellent
choice for a wide variety of applications, recommended for security
chains, gate hasps, cargo closure/tie downs, warehouses and
shed doors, etc. The GFSP provides resistance to forced entry
equal to the hardened chain or hasp it will be used with. It
provides for a high resistance to a variety of adverse environmental
conditions, including exposure to grit, corrosive environments
and freezing conditions. |

These locks are available keyed alike,
keyed differently and master keyed. The key system is
highly restricted, for US Government use only.

Attachment chain options are available with
ABLOY®
Padlocks, making it easier to ensure that a padlock does not
get misplaced while the object that it secures is open. There
are standard 12" and 18" chain attachments available.
Government Padlocks are available with a 6" chain attachment
as well as a 3' chain attachment that complies with the Federal
Specification RR-C-271D.
